Hands-On Outcome Harvesting Training

‘Learning by doing’ is one of the principles of Outcome Harvesting and as such it underpins the highly participatory approach taken by the trainers during this programme. To ensure this participatory approach to learning, the number of participants will be strictly limited.

Participants will enrich their understanding of the steps, concepts and principles of Outcome Harvesting by applying the steps to their project and a case study. The trainers will provide tips and insights based on their extensive experiences working with Outcome Harvesting.

Schedule and requirements

The training follows an immersive approach through which participants enrich their understanding of Outcome Harvesting by applying the steps to their project as well as a case study provided by the trainers. This case study will be used to illustrate and provide practice of the steps of OH but the workshop will also allow space for participants to think about how to apply OH thinking to their own work. Group exercises will follow a peer-assist approach where the participants will work together on each other’s projects / feedback on one another’s use of OH, thereby pooling their support and learning together.

How to choose your case:

Participants will use their own case to consider how to apply the OH steps and principles. Your case can be a past, present or future project. You do not need to bring documents on your case but you do need to know it well.

Programme:

There are 6 online sessions of 1-3 hours. In addition, participant will have to complete self-guided study between sessions.

Welcome: Introductory session.

Live session 1: Introduction to OH and the 5 steps; formulating an outcome statement

Live session 2: Design & Starting a harvest
